Il film tratta di uno dei capolavori più recenti dell’architettura contemporanea: La Casa a Bordeaux progettata nel 1998 da Rem Koolhaas /OMA. Diversamente dagli abituali film sull’architettura, Koolhaas HouseLife non vuole spiegare l’edificio, ma permettere allo spettatore di entrare nella sfera invisibile della sua intimità quotidiana. Questo esperimento presenta un nuovo modo di osservare l’architettura ed amplia il campo della sua rappresentazione.
Come ogni casa, La Casa a Bordeaux è un luogo di pluralità, con il suo caos, il suo deterioramento e i suoi cambiamenti. Il lavoro di Ila Bêka e Louise Lemoîne offre un ritratto della reale e mutevole vitalità di uno di quei monumenti che crediamo immortali. Ciò si realizza grazie alle storie e al quotidiano domestico di Guadalupe Acedo, custode e governante della casa, e delle altre persone che provvedono alla manutenzione dell’edificio. Seguendo Guadalupe, spunta un insolito ed imprevedibile sguardo sugli spazi e sulla struttura dell’edificio.
This film is centered around one of the masterpieces of contemporary recent architecture: the House in Bordeaux, designed in 1998 by Rem Koolhaas / OMA. Unlike most movies about architecture, Koolhaas HouseLife focuses less on explaining the building, and more on letting the viewer enter the invisible bubble of its daily intimacy. A real experiment that presents a new way of looking at architecture and broadens the field of its representation.
Like any house, The House in Bordeaux is a place of plurality with all its chaos, its wear and tear, and its changes. The work of Ila Bêka and Louise Lemoîne offers us a portrait of the real and changing vitality of one of those monuments we consider immortal. This is realized through the stories and daily chores of Guadalupe Acedo, the home’s caretaker and housekeeper, and the other people who look after the building. Following Guadalupe and interacting with her, we are shown an unusual and unpredictable portrait of the spaces and structures of the building.
